Police/Vigilante arrests 5 cattle rustlers in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command in collaboration with Vigilante group has arrested five suspected cattle rustlers in the state.

According to the Police Public Relation Officer of the state command, DSP Haruna Mohammed  arms, ammunition and domestic animals were also recovered from the suspects.

He said “On the 13/4/2016, following  intelligence report,Joint Police Vigilante group attached to Gumau Division raided a Criminal hideout of Suspected Cattle rustlers  at Kulfana Village and arrested Five Suspects.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include, One AK 47 Rifle with beech number 3074310, Two magazines with 57 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition, Three handsets and One Machete.

Others include, One Locally made Pistol, One Motorcycle, Sixty Eight Cows and Seventy Nine sheep, Assorted charms and other incriminating items.

The police spokesman said the case is under investigation after which Suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.

He enjoined embers of the Public whose Cattle were stolen to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department with sufficient proof of ownership and collect their Domestic Animals please.
