No fewer than six notorious criminals who specialised  in car snatching were paraded by the Plateau state police command.
The commissioner of Police ,CP Nasiru Oki disclosed that Over 25 stolen vehicles have been recovered from suspected car thieves in Plateau State by the State  Command were he  urged residents of the State whose cars have been stolen to come and check theirs.
About 12 of the stolen vehicles were recovered in Akwa Ibom State with many of them repainted and the areas of operation of the suspects are Gada Biu, Rantya and Rayfield areas of Jos where they allegedly steal the items from the owners.
Parading the suspects with stolen items which include generating sets and cars snatched at the Police Area Command in Jos, the State Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki said the feat was due to synergy and cooperation from residents who volunteered information.
He said, “I am delighted to intimate you on the successes recorded in the last one month. The existing synergy and cooperation among the Police, other security agencies and stakeholders have made our task rewarding.
“On the 9/10/2014, the Police detectives attached to Area Command Metro, Jos on information apprehended one William Ezeudo who specializes in stealing generator sets and the following were recovered:
“SP 100 Mikano, SP 40 Mikano, SP 13 Mikano, LP 20, Lister Better Generator and L17.5 Generator. One Abel Joseph and others at large who are experts in snatching vehicles at gunpoint was arrested on information.
“Toyota Camry JJN 286 RP, Accord EOD – No Registration number, Toyota RAV4 RYM 171 RA, Honda Civic GP 845 ABC, Honda Accord AG 71 KJM, Ford Focus AJ 842 JNN, Toyota Matrix – no registration, Toyota High Lander among others.”

The CP however to sustain the tempo as the Command has restrategized to provide the needed security that will guarantee the protection of lives and property.
