The 12 policemen kidnapped along Kankara – Sheme road in Katsina about two weeks ago have regained freedom sources said, Daily Trust is reporting.
They were abducted on their way to Zamfara state for a special assignment and were asked by their abductors to pay ransom before they could be released.
It was gathered that the freed policemen were brought to a hospital in Gusau, the state capital for a medical check up.
However, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo referred our correspondent to the Force Public Relations Officer for further information on the matter.
“You can contact the Force Public Relations officer please because any statement on the matter has been centralized at the force headquarters, ” Nagogo said
