The Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has paraded a 20-year-old man, Moses Oko, the suspected killer of Miss Jennifer Anthony, a 300 level student of the University of Jos, whose lifeless body was found mutilated in a hotel in Jos on January 01, 2022.
In his briefing the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, Bartholomew Onyeka said the suspect, also said to be a boyfriend of the deceased fled after committing the crime adding that the Command, in a bid to arrest the perpetrator, launched an aggressive manhunt and tactically trailed him to Benue State where he was arrested by hawked-eye police operatives of the Command.
The Police Commissioner said the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation was completed.
Parading the suspected killer of the undergraduate at the Command headquarters in Jos on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, said that Oko was arrested in Benue State with the help of his father, Joseph Oko who is a lecturer with the University of Jos.
According to him, “Sequel to the gruesome murder of Miss Jennifer Anthony, a 300 level student of the University of Jos whose lifeless body was found mutilated on 01/01/2022 at Domus Pacis Guest House, Jos by a man named Moses Oko ‘m’, aged 20 years, suspected to be her boyfriend who fled after committing the crime.
“The Command in a bid to arrest the perpetrator launched an aggressive manhunt on the suspect and tactically trailed him to Benue State where he was arrested by hawked-eye police operatives of the Command. The suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.”
He explained that the arrest of the suspect, Oko, was made possible as a result of credible information provided by his father, noting that the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.
