Police Holds Week Activities To Mark Policing In Nigeria, CP Ewah Bassey Declares War Against Crimes

The Nigeria Police Force has charged citizens to evaluate their performance in the area crime fight and civil relationship with the general public .

The Plateau State Command declared 30th March, to April 6 ,2026 for the commencement of activities in marking the exercise .

The Plateau State Commissioner ,CP Ewah Bassey in an exclusive interview with journalists at the state headquarters revealed that his blueprint is to reduce crime to it minimum level .

He assured the Nigerians of his desire to trail those bandits kidnappers,rapping , communal clashes and miscreants to their hideout by calling on the general public to give police credible information gathering . to

In his statement of warning to the criminal syndicates operating freely in the state capital and villages ,”we shall extend our hands of law to punish you and your sponsors  by bringing you to face the law “.

CP Ewah Bassey stressed that the hitch free Sallah celebration was the first of kind for years but some of these miscreants are planning to disrupt the hardend peace enjoy in the state .

In compliance with the Inspector General of Police’ directive, the Plateau State Police Command has put in place a line up of activities to mark National Police Day Celebration 2026.

 The celebration which will kickstart on Monday, 30th March, 2026,  will terminate at the National Finale on 7 April, 2026 at the Eagle Square, Abuja. 

The National Police Day 2026 arrives with a clear message: “We protect best, when we work together”. Effective Policing is a collective effort which requires trust, understanding, and cooperation between the Police and the public they serve. 

Therefore, this theme emphasizes the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and community members. 

Overtime, this partnership has helped us to prevent crimes, solve cases, and build a more just and secure society. We therefore call on the Government of Plateau State, Community/Religious Leaders, Stakeholders and members of the community, to join us as we celebrate the National Police Day 2026. Below is a schedule of activities lined up for the celebration.

DAY 1 MONDAY 30TH MARCH, 2026: 

ACTIVITY: Sanitation/Cleaning of strategic areas within the Metropolis 

Time: 08:00am.  

Venue: 

DAY 2: TUESDAY 31ST MARCH: ACTIVITY: Ten Kilometer Walkathon

Time: 06:00am.  

Venue: From Command Headquarters to Mopol 8 Barracks, Jos.

DAY 3: WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL, 2026 ACTIVITY: Sensitization on Road Safety

TIME: 10:00am

VENUE: Police Officers Mess, Jos.

DAY 4: THURSDAY 2 April, 2026

ACTIVITY: Presentation of Cheques to families of deceased Police Officers

TIME: 11:00am

VENUE: Commissioner of Police Office.
