Police Arrest 9 Suspects In Gombe Over Murder By Kalshingi H Jedidah

policeGombe state police command has said it has arrested 9 suspects in connection to killing, house breaking, political thuggery and other related crimes. The police Commissioner CP Abdullahi Kudu Nma told journalists in his office at the Police Headquarters in Gombe on Friday.

According to him, the police command has made many arrests within the year, most of which were connected to political thuggery, killing, and stealing. He said, suspects have already been charged to court out of which most of them are currently serving various prison terms.

Also according to him, a lot of successes have been recorded by the police in the state through its intensified effort and improved method of policing. Adding that following reports of killings, snatching of items, house breaking, and other criminal activities that have been received by the command, the police had vowed never to relent on its effort to track down the criminals.

Parading the nine suspects before journalists, the police commissioner further explained that, four of the nine suspects whose names given as Khalid Abdul Hamid, Umar Mohammed, Sale Kunama, and Salisu Mohammed, were arrested at Idi quarters within Gombe metropolis, he said the suspects were arrested in connection to the brutal murder of one Mohammmed Bunu a photographer, who was killed in cold blood near his resident at the said area.

One of the suspects, Adamu Abubakar Alias by name was also said to be a notorious killer who had been in hiding for long but was arrested by the police in the state capital.”It gladdens our hearts that, we have been able to apprehend this deadly killer, who we have been looking for, he has been in hiding for long, but nemesis caught up with him.” He added.

The Police commissioner further explained that, four other suspects namely, Salisu Faisal, Abubakar Abdulmumini, Yusuf Abubakar, and Kamal Yusuf, were suspected criminals who are specialised in snatching of bags, handsets, house breaking, and also killing.

The nine suspects, according to the police would be charged to court in other to face the full wrath of the law. Meanwhile, the Police commissioner warned that, people should desist from any form of criminality, as the police would not relent in ensuring that, the state remains peaceful and free of crime.
