Plateau Subeb Spent N300 Million Teaching, Learning, And Infrastructural Aides, 500 Teachers Undergoing Training —Prof.Mathew Sule

At least N300 million worth  of teaching , learning and  infrastructural materials were bought ,distributed to all the public primary schools across the 17 local government Areas of Plateau State under the Governor Simon Bako Lalong led  administration within  year review.

The Executive Secretary, Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board Prof.Mathew Sule has said, Governor Simon Lalong administration has done extremely well towards improving the welfare of teachers in the last two years in office.

Prof. Sule gave Lalong  this  commendation on the two years score card and infrastructural development in training and retraining of man power in Plateau’ state at the PLUBEB headquarters ,Dogon Dutse Jo’s North LGA on Friday.

He said, the two years of administration and stock taken to access the performance which was role out of what has been done in the past two years in term of developmental strides, Lalong government after swearing in, federal government has established foundation for Universal Basic Education Board at National and that same gesture was extended to the 36 States.

According to him, why the federal government established UBEB in 2005 was to help complement one another and ensure performance of children learning and writing to improve their score value enthroned transparency committed on the teaching to inculcate moral discipline in the lives of  children.

He maintained that the Governor Lalong government has done a lot under the present predicament the country is currently undergoing.

Every schools had a conducive quality structure, qualify man power and teaching were this government have done quite a lot to improve on renovating over, 500 classrooms with functional and well trained teachers.

The University don said apart from the world class learning facilities ,we can  see the result that  our pupils in public schools now read and write under the conducive atmosphere .We also sent 300 teachers who proceeded on training and retraining here in Nigeria and outside the country  in mathematics and English Language their ability and competency some are doing their master’s degree while others are doing doctorate degree to equip themselves meaningfully well likely to improve the society.

He reiterated further that the infrastructures material which was purchased N300 million worth of books, sports equipment, and this is an aspects of government toward impacting in the state.

Prof Sule raised concern that the high rate of insurgency in the country can be link to high number schools dropout so this government is working hard to ensure that they complete their education in government schools not allow most them derailed.

He pointed out since the Lalong government came on board the state recorded breakthrough in the area of learning facilities including wellbeing of teachers were some are reading their master’s degree while others are reading doctorates respectively.

Sule emphasized that with all sense of modesty government have put in place stringent measure to achieve the expected result, we have fields officers in all the local governments especially the Education secretaries to monitor and supervise check defaulted.

We make sure they go out to look at how the quality of teaching and learning ,when I first took over the situation was indeed very bad ,the learning facilities under the past government was worst many children cannot read but they have improve drastically.

We are interested not just the content but the act of teaching what method are they using ,we move round often to correct those with deficiency  we working hard scientific manner to achieve result which have been achieved .

If the monitoring mechanism is not into result that issue of welfare packages is upper most in what we are doing training of teachers.

He added, another 64 teachers are on training so want you to know that I inherited a situation where teachers abandoned education to go to school and read any courses that are not relevant but since then I also work on their promotion where 500 of them have been promoted.

Prof Mathew Sule commended Governor Simon Lalong for his prompt payment of teachers’ salaries, we are very happy about it.

However, I was handed over workers that were not motivated to do more we came on board to reciprocate the good gesture of what the Governor Simon Lalong government is doing, government is planning to buy additional vehicles to help supervisor go round freely to monitor teachers.

He lamented that so many challenges that we must surmount few of them exhibition of negative attitudes we most harmonize team up together to improve PLSUBEB because this project of universal access to all children education.

The prof stressed that the current board have registered website to network all the number of schools including the teachers, head teacher and their pupils for easy access to available information.
