Plateau SUBEB Boss Raises Alarm Over Institutionalized Corruption In Public Leadership In Nigeria

The Executive Chairman of Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Mathew Sule has raised alarm over the large scale acts of corruption which has almost become malignant and thus institutionalized.

He commended the Catholic  men organization of Nigeria (CMON)  for introducing program that would enhance the teaching and knowledge of Jesus Christ in educating and  enlightening Christian to imbibe sound teaching .

Speaking at the 22nd National Conference of the Catholic men organization of Nigeria held at St Murumba college Jos as Chairman of occasion .

Prof Sule said ,”there appears to be a state of dysfunction in public leadership ,we should have rethinking on how best we shall help our country to turn around its fortunes “.

However,the opportunity has created by this meeting is most gratifying as men from difference cultural background are converging to discuss issues of common interest for the advancement of the Church .

He noted that the emergence of false prophets is not indigenous to the contemporary era, as the Bible has explains about them even before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

According to him, those fake prophets took advantage of precarious economic situation in Nigeria and the world to create the proliferation of “prophetic churches”, while some are driven by harsh economic conditions to survive.

He lamented that these fake prophets churches are being patronized by people who requiring genuine help which he said ,” I consider it quite apt and indeed a timely response by the church to address the many misconception associated with the issue of false prophets “.

He therefore, enjoin the catholic men organization of Nigeria to openly dialogue within the realm of love for one another and the unity of the church as well as that of the country which we all belong.

Prof. Mathew Sule disclosed that is poised to know the issue of circular cannot be address here but the conservation should open up the frontiers for the understanding and appreciation of socio political and cultural differences of the participants.

He maintained that he not sure that holiness exemplified by obedience to the word of God ,which is the epicenter of Christ message is often given prominence.

Prof Sule reiterated that Nigeria is facing a lot of challenges bordering on the polity ,economy and the general deplorable social standard because the quality of leadership especially the public institutions leave much to be desire.

He called on the church required change in Nigeria depends on how we initiate and effect changes to guarantee an acceptable value reorientation pattern considering that the church is viable and potent agent of change to rejuvenate the society and make it more functional.
