Plateau South introduces peace parley dialogue committee to end crisis

The council chairmen in the southern plateau state has introduced peace parley to curtain insistence attacks in the zone.

The peace initiative parley in the zone was to help tackle the incessant attacks in their councils and bring about lasting peace in their domain.

Management committee Chairman of  Langtang south, Hon Nicolas D vongchir  commended President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Lalong for tackling corruption and fighting Boko Haram in  northeast, he lauds the president for  appointing a son of Plateau south  as a minister in Nigeria

He expresses excitement over the nomination of Bar. Solomon Dalung  an indigene of Langtang South  his shows that  change and integrity in governance .

He disclosed that Solomon Dalung is a trust worthy son who sacrificed for APC on the Plateau and worked for President Mohammadu Buhari.

“We initiated this peace meeting to ensure that peace is returned in our councils as these have become a common issue in the state”.

Adding the first meeting was held in Shendam and now the second is in Langtang North .

Hon vongchir said the council chairmen reached a resolution that  a constitution of a committee to immediately draw  the warring factions to give chance for   lasting peace to  prevail.

We have discovered that for this crisis to be over we need to take urgent steps to ensure that peace returns to our councils.

According to him,” we resolved among us set up a peace and security committee in our areas to dialogue with affected districts to assure that government is  committed  to them”.

He said for some time now there have been pockets of crisis and the best way to tackle this issue is my handling it headlong, for instance during the last sallah celebration were able to create a peaceful coexistence among the Muslims, Christians in  tarok Land .

The  chairman called on the people of the southern zone and plateau people to support the change slogan of Governor Lalong for a better and vibrant plateau.
