A coalition of youth groups has said they’re chopping for the replacement of the Ex-Minister by calling on President Bola Tinubu to appoint Prof. Saleh Galadima to replace Minister of Labour and Productivity, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong.
The groups under the aegis of Plateau Central indigenous youths, the PKK Solidarity Forum, and the Kanam Progressive Youths said that Galadima has the experience and competence to deliver.
The coalition spokesperson, Mr Gideon Bwim, said that considering the political history of Plateau, it was the turn of the Plateau Central to produce the minister when Lalong resigned.
Bwim stated that the reason for the central zone agitating for the slot has been emphasised by many groups seeking equity and fairness, which have benefited once since the return of democracy in Nigeria.
“While the other two zones, Plateau North and Plateau South, have enjoyed it five times and six times, respectively.
“As one Plateau with common interests, we call for the support of Prof. Saleh Mohammed Galadima Kanam whose leadership prowess has been proven based on his credibility and past experience in governance both in the private and public sectors.
“His imprinted legacies towards service to humanity, both at the state and indeed at the federal level, have informed our trust in his suitability to be appointed as the Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Worthy to mention is the indelible policy of Galadima of inclusiveness and religious tolerance, a quality that is not common in our contemporary society today.
“As concerned youths from the Plateau Central Zone, we call on President Tinubu to please invest in this trusted teacher, father, and consummate administrator who is equally an experienced legal luminary and a grassroots mobilizer for the ministerial appointment,” he said.
The coalition called on all relevant stakeholders in the state and the diaspora to add their weights behind Prof. Galadima’s appointment as the honourable minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to them, Plateau Central Zone youths would continue to support Tinubu in accomplishing his renewed hope mandate for Nigerians.
