Plateau Senior Police Officers Celebrate Adamu’s Appointment As Acting IGP

Contrary to speculations that senior police officers from Plateau state were not happy over the appointment of Mohammed Adamu, a former assistant inspector general of police, an indigene of Nasarawa state, as the newly acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), due to President Mohammed Buhari, refusal to consider DIG Habila Joshak, DIG operations, an indigene of the state for the position. Our Investigation clearly shows that  Plateau community in the Nigeria Police Force are very happy over the appointment of Adamu, by President Buhari saying Plateau and Nasarawa state are the same.

We reliably gathered that the Plateau state Senior Police Officers Forum, which is composed of some of Plateau most highly respected and successful officers are happy and are celebrating the choice of  Adamu against Joshak

Some of the officers who spoke with our reporter in confidence said Adamu has been an intelligent and excellent officer.

One of the officers, an Assistant Commissioner of police, while describing Adamu.  “As a very humble, brilliant and outstanding officer in every way you can think of,”  said he was surprise to hear the speculation that Senior Police officers from Plateau state, were not happy over the appointment of the acting IG because Joshak was not appointed.

He said, “although we have nothing against Habila Joshack, but to be sincere with you his relationship with officers from Plateau  state was not cordial, therefore we have no reason to even support him to be the IGP or be angry over the choice of Adamu against him.”

“For Adamu to be appointed  is not only a honour to the people of Nasarawa, but also to Plateau and the entire middle belt states,  and especially to Nigeria. He will add value to the security team and he’s worthy of celebrating.”

Prior to his appointment, Adamu has been a pride of the zone; he reached the pinnacle of his career at the famous National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau state.

Another Plateau officer said Adamu has an impressive background and will be able to add his perspective and vast knowledge on how to move the police force forward to yield positive gains.”

“I advise him to use this opportunity well and he should bring together people of integrity who will not smear his integrity.”
