Plateau Resident Electoral Commissioner, Promises Level Play Ground For All Parties By Yakubu Busari,Jos
Resident Electoral Commission of Plateau state, Dr. Godwin Kwanga has promised level play ground to all the political parties contesting for 2015 general elections .
He said ,he will be neutral to all the political parties seeking for various elective position in the state.
Kwanga stated this yesterday at inter-agency consultative committee /stakeholders seminar on election security holding in Hill station Hotel ,conference room ,Jos .
He appealed to all politicians to hid their provocative words and to also ensure that they conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during electioneering campaign and after the announcement of the final result.
REC warned the sponsored of youth to disrupt or unleashed mayhem to people during voting exercise to stop the act ,there are procedure for seeking redress we have follow the laydown rules through legal means.
He added that if the election is credible the leaders who win will respect the electorates ,we advice plateau state indigent to see themselves as one family.
Kwanga pointed out that “let do its with the fair of God. ,while going for rally I seek your indulge to caution all your supporters not to carry dangerous weapons at campaign venue”.
He explained that ,INEC have concluded arrangement for distribution of temporary card which commences in phases in all the local government wards headquarters .
According to him, those who refused to collect their PVC will not be allow to vote on election day because the card readers will not authenticate them so they will send them away from the polling units .
He added that all the local and the international observers must be screen in Abuja and only those that were accredited by the federal government will be allow .
However, he warned that those who claim to participate as observers in past have contributed in rigging ,so this time around we shall not allow its.
Kwanga advices people who come to collect PVC on behalf of their family members with the intention to be use on election will not work.
He stressed further that sensitive election materials will be send to the central bank branch in Plateau state and all political parties leaders shall be on ground to monitor , adding, accreditation will start around 8am till 1 PM to allow proper use of card readers and the voting proper commence after every polling units complete the exercise . The election result will be announce at all polling units and. the result place in each polling units in the present of all the security agencies and the party agents ,we also give the agents forms to fill gubernatorial ,presidential down to house assembly.
We also called on all the political parties to submit the list of the agents for screening at the INEC office .
The Gbong Gwom Jos , Da Jacob Gyang Buba said, he wish that the constitution gave them a role in the election, but as traditional fathers we shall give our own royal blessing.
He cautioned the key players to see its family affairs and justice be done all accept the outcome of election.
Buba asked INEC to ensure that all the internally displaced people vote .
He promised to give the security agents maximum cooperation and also observe sincerity to avoid crisis.
