The Plateau State Police Command has expressed displeasure over the recent Online report, (name withheld), that the recent parades of arms by the Command was an act of propaganda.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Terna Tyopev, in an interactive session with leaders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Pateau State on Monday, condemned the report in its entirety.

According to him, from the headline of the story which posit that, “are police  propagating propaganda by parading arms?” is  not only mischievous but well fabricated to discredit the ability of the force to the public.

He said, “The Correspondent is neither a ballistic expert nor a professional in arms handling and assessment to have come to the conclusion that the arms in question were rust, out of used, boken and above all, a propaganda to score a cheap point”,

The PPRO, however appeals to the Public to go about their normal business, as police and other security agencies are working round the clock to ensure safety of lives and property, and advised  Journalists to verify their sources of information before going to press to avoid distorting facts .
