Plateau PDP Youth Protest At Plateau Assembly Complex, Urges Lalong To Reverse Appointment Caretaker Committee Chairmen

Mass protest today hit Plateau State House Assembly Complex as a group of People Democratic Party Concerned Youth Wing Plateau state Chapter have stormed the complex defying the heavy down pour on Wednesday asking the Governor Simon Lalong to reverse his decision of appointment of Care Taker Committee Chairmen in four Local Government Councils of Riyom ,Jos North ,Jos South ,and Barkin Ladi.

 

Spokesperson of the youth group, Comrade, Hussaini Garba Mohammed in his address lamented that the appointment of care taker committee to man the key position of authority in a democratic setting is barbaric and uncalled for.

 

The protesters who gathered in front of the State Assembly in the early hours of today were sent out by the rainfall which lasted for several hours.

 

The PDP concerned youth condemned in its totality the undemocratic action perpetuated by the Governor Simon Lalong for swearing in management committee Chairmen’s in the four LGAs of Riyom ,Barkin Ladi ,Jos North and Jos South respectively without consulting with stakeholders .

 

They said the present leadership of APC at the national and state don’t have respect for rule of law and are truncating democracy; the Governor had turned a deaf ear to the yearning and aspirations of the people of Plateau.

 

Garba said they condemned when Mr. Governor came out openly saying that he would die for President Muhammadu Buhari and that also in Plateau state that this can be that the members of PLHA are going to die for him too, that they have all remain silent over the recent development happening in the state.

 

“We call on the 24 members of PLHA to see themselves as grassroots people and we the youth across the country are encouraging to bold enough to defense our democracy from total collapse.

 

“As vanguard of change agents of our society, we challenge you all to sand up and shun politics of divisive agenda, they explain.

 

“We are calling on Governor Simon Lalong to kindly consider the people mandate and change his mind by reversing the decision he took by appointment of  councils Chairmen of  LGAs .,we are calling him to conduct election by ushering elected chairmen.

 

“We as peace loving citizens of Plateau state we don’t want anything that can bridge the peaceful disposition of our people.

 

They appealed to Royal father’s to intervene to safeguard the mandate of people of Plateau state with the fragile peace the state is currently experiencing in the state.”
