Plateau PDP Says 44 Chairmanship And 446 Councillorship Aspirants Eligible For Party Primaries

The People Democratic Party under the leadership of Hon Damishi Sango has disclosed that 44 chairmanship aspirants are vying for positions in the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau state as well as 446 Councillorship aspirants.

The Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Hon Damishi Sango made this disclosure during a closed door meeting with all the aspirants at the party Secretariat on Thursday in Jos.

He expressed confidence that PDP will win all the 17 LGAs election scheduled to hold on the 17th February, 2018 with landslide victory if the APC can conduct free and fair exercise.

Sango explained that,” we as political party we participate going by the PLASIEC guidelines of the electoral act which the electoral umpire gave us the time table.

He refused to admit whether there would be shift on the election date but Sango   maintained that they are yet to receive the information but he said that the PLASIEC chairman, Mr. Fabian Ntung as a retired permanent secretary cannot do anything that is capable of denting his image.

We have confidence in him so I don’t think someone there can use him to deceive Plateau citizens, Ntung cannot allow somebody to mess him up so we all belief this election will hold.

According to him, PDP is well prepare as you can see the level of preparation ,today we hold meeting with all the aspirants to educate and enlighten them on tolerance and forgiveness in case they could not get the forthcoming primaries but to remain resolute and work for the victory of their party.

He stressed the party is yet to receive any aggrieved member during the screening exercise, all those who obtained nomination forms were cleared by the committee set up to handle it.

Hon Damishi Sango told journalists that persons with disabilities were given free nomination forms including females aspirants just to encourage them to participate actively in politics.
