Plateau North Youth Leaders Protest, Issue Warnings, To PDP Ahead Of Guber, State Assembly Elections

Yakubu Busari

The Youth Leadership in Plateau North Senatorial District have protested over the non-involvement of Plateau Christians and Muslims in the affairs of state politics and the aftermath of elections by a session of tribal affiliation as they exhibited tribal sentiments in the disbursement of campaign funds and appointment of their own people even outside Jos North.

The group led by  Convener Samchris Mafuyai , Andy Yakubu  the secretary Tudun Wada central youth forum , Mr Peter Adamson Youth leader Utan , Hon Ali Uwenni Yusuf Former Councilor Jos North LGA, Hon .Inusa Ado Muslim leader and Lawrence Jang Kabong Central youth stakeholders disclosed this during a town hall meeting held at ungwan Chawai of Jos North LGA on Saturday.

The protesters raised concerns that they have been neglected and abandoned by some selfish politicians in Plateau North due to their greed,  as well as used and dumped agenda.

According to them, “Weare aggrieved especially those of us who stood to protect all the polling units and most the funds disburse to all the polling units which are happening through the use of strangers and old politicians that hijack the entire system to influence everything.

We warn against the forthcoming governorship and State house of assembly election which we are calling on our members to distance themselves from full participation and to vote wisely for candidates that identify and cooperate with the Nigeria Youths in Politics, the protest statement reads.

They lamented that youth groups are been marginalized in the area of appointment of persons with academic qualifications by Hon. Mrs Simi Dusu and Hon. Simon Mwadkon in the last four years of their stewardship, we don’t really know what is happening through the period under review, they explained “.

They stressed that Simi Dusu use their dividends of democracy to dish out appointments through the Berom agenda trailing a lopsided appointment and also accused PDP of giving out election funds on tribal affiliation by neglecting other ethnic tribes residents in  Plateau North senatorial district.

However, we have resolved to take a firm decision to boycott and disgrace them on the polling units day as the entire youth is angry with them since they have proving themselves.

They stated that during the just concluded presidential election, they sacrificed to carter for INEC Adhoc staff, Security personnel to move sensitive election materials and ensure that thugs didn’t invade the venue to cart away voting materials but in return, nothing was given to them.

They explained further that enough is enough of the mudslinging attitude of their politicians who develop I don’t care behavior towards them but chose to use them to steal and hijack ballots paper on election hours.

“We are not supporting anyone with a bad record of hatred to other tribes but, we are bold to tell them categorically clear that there is no political structure without the community structure so in the light of the above any politician who chose to adhere to our warning has himself or herself to blame in the forthcoming governorship and state Assembly elections.
