Plateau Internal Revenue Service Plans To Block All Revenue Leakages In 2018

The Executive Chairman Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, (PSIRS), Mr. Dashe Arlat has disclosed that the service is planning to improve on the  IGR to meet up the target to the provision of social responsibilities the citizens of the state through aggressive revenue drive.

Arlat made this disclosure while briefing journalists at the Plateau state Internal Revenue Service on Wednesday to usher in the 2018 fiscal year.

He promised to block all revenue leakages in the state and he called on taxpayers, so we must ensure that we achieve 21 billion budgets.

The Chairman maintained that “the performance by the government of its core responsibility to serve and advance the welfare and well-being of citizens is usually dependent on the quantum of available resources, adding, the sources are harnessed through a combination of method “.

” We shall pursue and upscale thorough monitoring of ,and demand and ensure strict compliance by all MDAs in Plateau state ,to the government approved automation process of assessment ,involving ,collection /payment and receipting these government approved processes are aimed to check, identify and eliminate wastages, leakages and omissions that lead to loss of revenue across board “,he explained.

According to him, we shall intensify sensitization campaign across the 17 local government areas as we are determined to cover the entire state and will use different forms of communication in a strategic fashion, so as to educate and mobilize taxpayers on tax matters.

Arlat cautioned that the management and staff of PSIRS have designed, taken ownership of and resolute implementation of sustainability for 2018 and beyond the plan is comprises of 7 key result areas and 18 action plans which drew useful performance of templates.

Dashe stressed further that government shall therefore robustly explore all options and mechanism that will allow such entitles and or individual for fiscal sustainability plan of the federal government of Nigeria and the state transparency and accountability, sustainability program by the World Bank.

The statutory task of identification, generation, and collection of all taxes, rates, charges levied fines and or fees across Plateau state is the direct purview of Plateau state Internal Revenue Service.
