Plateau Injustice Breeds Hatred For 30 Years Among Natives -Dr Godfrey Miri

A former National Independent Electoral Commission’s Resident Commissioner for Gombe State and now a gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, for Plateau Dr Godfrey Miri has said, “Injustice has brought us to the present crises for over 30 years of our existence as a state.”

 

Miri stated this while giving audience to our correspondence at his Residence in Rayfield in Jos ahead of schedule primaries.

 

He said,  he joined SDP due to the fact that  SDP as a movement  of the   youth came to  approach him to lead them for four years  so as to liberate the state  from the shackles  of poverty  and underdevelopment.

 

Dr Godfrey explained that  those who  took  over  the mantle of power  since  1999 ,Sen Joshua  Dariye ,Sen. Jonah David Jang and Governor Simon Lalong have all concentrated on awarding contracts which  is the misapplication of public funds by these three persons that is why we are where are today.

 

He lamented that the ordinary people are suffering from lack of planning that they can’t get 3 square meals, “we have abandon mineral resources, first we can generate 6.5 billion for the 3 Senatorial districts so that they can compete for them to share equally give them sense of belonging.

 

He promised to introduce school feeding, scholarship to all the public schools to accommodate children of common man who cannot afford to pay for their fees.

 

Miri accused the past and present government for lack entrepreneurship education to move the state forward, we should give opportunity developed himself or herself, I will use the PPIC to revamp the state which I cannot allow politicians to head that office because they contributed in destroying the resources main for the development of the state.

 

He assured the people of building company in all the senatorial districts of the state SDP is a party of MKO Abiola since we pick up the party as a movement we intend to go round to educate on the important of it.

 

“we must effect change because women are left behind  and we frown at traditional practices that  denied women right to benefit from inheritance and we will introduce professional to come and join us we are going to campaign on issues “,he added.

 

Godfrey Miri cautioned that Nigeria Civil servant is rotten they are the worst, some of the government houses would be sold to people on owner occupier basic.
