Plateau Governor-Elect Describes Late Chief Imam As A Peace Builder

Chief-ImamThe Plateau state Governor-elect, Bar. Simon Bako Lalong has described Late Chief of Imam of Jos, Sheik Zakariyya Balarabe Daud, who died yesterday in Jos, the Plateau state capital as great man who has work for peace of the country.

He urged the people to work on his legacy because he has brought Christian and Muslim together as one family.

Lalong commiserate with the Muslims society on the demise of the Chief Imam who has sacrifice a lot for humanity. He expressed shock and called on the family to see the death as an act of God, we should all bear the loss.

However, the Governor-elect who was at the compound at the early hours of Monday was accompanied by some APC stalwarts and the deputy Governor-elect, Prof. Sonni Tyoden .

Shiek Daud who died at the age of 82, was buried at the Zaria Road Centenary in the city of Jos. He survived by one wife, 10 children and 10 grand children. It was gathered that the deceased died after a surgery at Royal Villa Hospital located in Dadin Kowa, in Jos.

Until his death he was the chairman Ulama Council Plateau State, State Legal Adviser of Jamaatu Nasril Islam (JNI) and grand patron Jos Central Mosque Council and Co-Chairman Plateau Presidential Peace and Reconciliation Committee.

Before his retirement as a civil servant in 1983, he was a former Shari’a Judge with the Plateau state Judiciary.

The state secretary JNI ,Alh Sani Mudi used the visit to condole with the people of Plateau state and the governor-elect on landslide victory .

He prayed for soul of the deceased with one minutes silent was observed, asking the family to accept the death in good faith.
