A Grade I Area Court sitting in Bukuru of Jos South Local Government ,LGA, of Plateau State on Monday arraigned Mr Babangida Ahmed for criminal conspiracy, breach of contract for defrauding and selling a house to one Tuesday John with his senior brother one Nasiru Ahmed who is a resident in Abuja , who is also currently on the run .
The two accused persons resides at No26 New layout , Bukuru of Jos South LGA disguising as the owner of the house which is situated within the Bukuru layout for sale, of which the sum of N2.7 million Naira was paid by Tuesday John into the account of Nasiru Ahmed for the purchase of the said house, but the duo of Nasiru Ahmed and Babangida refused to hand over the house to Tuesday John whom have paid for the said property.
Justice E.N. Okay who ordered the court clerk to read the charge before the alleged land owner Mallam Babagida Ahmed whose Elder brother Nasiru Ahmed who is at large large pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The suspect was Charged under section 49,379 of The Plateau State criminal act as charge ,Ahmed who prefer to speak in Hausa Language said, ‘I’m not guilty of the offense Charged” .
The prosecution counsel, inspector Ikpo Chukwume urged the court to adjourn .
However counsel to the defendant Barr. Mohammad Sale told the court that he has no objection to the charge read but says they have an application before the court in pursuant section 173,178 ,180 respectively To Plateau State criminal act as the defendant haven’t pleaded not guilty .
We shall undertake if granted bail, saying as a responsible citizen of Nigeria he will not jump bail and shall make himself available for trials, he shall be made a surety of reasonable and unquestionable characters .
Mohammad stressed That, we apply but left it on the court discretion to rule in favor of the defendant and grant this application.
Justice Okay granted the application for the bail but disclosed that the defendant most presents someone with a landed property document , two passport photographs .
