Plateau Correspondent Chapel Suffers 3-2 Defeat From NTA Jos

The Correspondent Chapter has lost 2 -3 to the Nigeria Union of Journalists ,Plateau State council in an inter chapel match on a penalty shoots out were the game ended up 2- 2 in the first and second half played at Plateau Radio Television Cooperation ,PRTVC ,on Monday .

 

The friendly match organized by the NUJ ,council to commensurate the one week press activities under the leadership of Mr Paul Jatau was to test the fitness of men of the pen profession.

 

The Nigeria Union Journalists ,NUJ, Plateau State chapter disclosed that they  organized inter-chapel  competition for its members were the Correspondent Chapter lost  to NTA ,Jos by one defeat .

 

Deputy Chairman correspondent Chapel ,Josiah Buzun expressed displeasure with the manner the referee officiated the match which ended draw in the first half .

 

According to him ,the NTA Jos boys were recruited outside to play the game and the referee was bias because the extra time given was too more than 10 minutes .

 

In his sweep response the Vice Chairman NUJ ,Mr Benjamin Mitu refuted the comments credited to the correspondent Vice Chairman ,Mr Josiah Buzun that his boys did prepared adequately for the match which gave the NTA Jos aged advantage.

 

The State council ,Chairman Mr Paul Jatau couldn’t hide his happiness were the two chapels displayed the journalists arsenal inspire of the heavy downpour that lasted hours and still drizzling during the match.

 

However ,the NUJ press week on Monday kick start with road walk from NUJ to Secretariat roundabout follow through the state House of Assembly complex back to the council Secretariat and a visit to IDP in Bukuru ,Barkin Ladi and other internally Displaced people camps .

 

The council Chairman Mr Paul Jatau donated relief materials to IDPs camp by soliciting assistant from spirited individuals and government help the victims of Jos killings who are now living outside their ancestral homes.
