Plateau Commissioner Of Information Joyce Ramnap Charges Religion Leaders Not Carry Law In Their Hands

Following the relaxation of the 48 hour curfew by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, the Commissioner of information and communication , Rt.Hon Joyce Lohya Ramnap has  called on all parents, traditional/religious leaders to warn their children, wards, congregants and followers not to carry law in their hands .

She made this known on Wednesday at Angwan Rukuba after the breakdown of law and order in Jos North LGA .

Ramnap urged the general public to abide by the curfew restrictions, as Governor Mutfwang order security  to  ensure that the law takes its full course.

She advises members of the public to comply with the curfew imposition, as there will be strict enforcement.

“You would recall that in the early hours of Wednesday, a disagreement which ensued between some youths in Nassarawa Gwong community of Jos North LGA caused minor tensions in the town.

” Unfortunately, some hoodlums and crisis merchants took advantage of the situation to cause fear and panic among traders and students within the university community; However, the Plateau State government  in collaboration with  security agencies swiftly intervened, arrested the situation and restored calm in the area”, she added.

She stressed that government warned  all criminal elements who intend to use this as an avenue to cause mayhem within the State to stop .

She further warns that the government will not stand and watch lawless hoodlums turn the State into a theatre for violence.

Ramnap charged citizens to report any suspicious activities within your environment, as adequate security personnel are deployed across the affected areas to curb reprisal attack .

She said that the peace that we need on the Plateau ,we need to protect it .
