The Director General ,All Progressive Congress ,APC, Rescue League of Unity (RESLU), Stephen A.Jings has said that its group has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong reelection bid for the 2019 presidential and gubernatorial race in Plateau state.
Jings disclosed this during the official unveiling of the league and inauguration of the state executive committee in Vopye, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state.
He said the RESLU has recruited 29,000 volunteers in 325 wards and 2,631 polling units across the 17 local governments of the state.
The management committee chairman of Pankshin LGA said they organization declared and endorsed president Buhari and Governor Lalong as their sole candidates based on their track record of achievement for a second time in office.
He used the occasion to congratulate all the beneficiaries of board chairmen and board members in Plateau state as he encourages politicians under RESLU to embark on massive recruitment ahead of the forthcoming LG election in the state.
Stephen Jings urged the supporters of APC to use the group to canvas for the reelection; it’s in realization of its bid to contribute its quota towards the realization of these objectives that the league was formed.
“We have now decided to use the league to serve as a veritable buffer to complement the effort of the party by mobilizing support across the state, seeking to open some kind of voter factory that would multiply its campaign process in a geometrical progression.
Also adding his voice, the APC chairmanship candidate of Riyom LGA, Hon Mafen Gwallson expressed confidence that they are ready to vigorously pursue the sustainability of peaceful coexistence in rural communities.
He said the RESLU is in partnership with all party faithful to promote the tenet of democracy towards encouraging grassroots politics for active participation people.
Gwallson maintained that RESLU intend to use it connect like minds and assist in the building of bridges upon which the party can continuously use for election victories in the future.
According to him ,our networks can serve as tributaries for the distribution of election materials among voters ,it will serve as an anti-rigging machine ,political educators and agents of the party during the election .This is in addition to any other assignment the party will call upon the league to undertake.
The Chairman of occasion, Chief Philip Tattari Shekwo commended Plateau state chapter of the APC for taking this bold step to encourage political campaign for the reelection.
He said Plateau state is strategic to the people of middle belt because of the overwhelming votes garnered by them as well other States for the APC in the last 2015 general poll.
Shekwo also commended the league for their effort to renew call for reelection bid of PMB and Lalong in 2019 .
