Plateau 8th State Assembly The Worst In Plateau’s History, We Will Boycott Forthcoming LG Elections In Plateau-23 Political Parties

About 23 political parties leadership in Plateau state have threatened to boycott the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state owning to non-compliance of the Electoral Act Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Chairman of All Political Parties in Plateau State, Prince George Ndu has protested the exclusion of their members by the Plateau state House of Assembly who had organized the Public hearing scheduled to prepare them for the conduct of Local Government elections.

Prince George who spoke to journalists at the venue of the public hearing held at Tudun Wada leadership institute, Jos North Local Government Council, expressed worry that the Plateau Assembly has been described as the worst in Plateau’s history with non-performance by them.

Ndu accused the leadership of the House for being bias and lopsided in taken decision; “so I want to say here that, we have lost confidence in the present members of the 8th assembly for not involving other political parties.

According to him, the house claim to have organized public hearing to enlighten the general public on the issue of credible, free and fair election in the state but the house refused to extend their invitation to Non-Governmental organization and the political parties.

“We gate crashed to the venue thinking that the house was ready to conduct free and fair election but from the arrangement we are in serious doubt,” he added.

He complained that the Plateau citizens are yet to have representatives at the hallow chamber considering this absence of dividend of democracy and disconnection of the house from the people.

He, however, stressed that the APC elected members of the 8 assembly who are saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that the state enjoy democracy at local government level has abandon its duty.

However, in its response, the Majority leader of the House, Hon Henry Yenkwap debunked that the members of the 8th assembly are not rubber stamp and they are not the worst considering the numbers of bills imitated by them.

He explained that within the shortest time they members had conducted four public hearings to ensure that the public were carry alone by touching the peoples’ lives.

We have impacted positively to the lives of citizens especially on the area of political engagement of our people.
