A philanthropist and the son of the first district head of Gyangyang development association, GDA, of Jha’ar Chiefdom of Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau state, Alh. Shuaibu Haruna Shi’ilah Ra’an has donated two classroom blocks worth over 10,000 million naira at Government secondary school with modern facilities.
Shi’ilah who spoke to our correspondent   while dedicating and commissioning the edifice in memory of his late father the first Ra’an of Gyangyang (late) at central primary, premises Kanam LGA, Plateau state said he encouraged other parents to bring their children to benefit from the gesture because years back this same community have contributed a lot in providing us with good education so we all want to replicate the same to them.
According to him, education is the bedrock of any developed society, no nations of the world can boast of moving forward without proper training adding he said; “you never be useful to the society without you going through educational training.
Shi’ilah promised to offer the children of less privilege scholarship for those who want to increase the level of education in tertiary institutions anywhere in the world.
He noted that education is the only instrument that will facilitate your negative perception to forget every bad thing and build confidence to face life challenges without fear.
Alh Haruna Shi’ilah appealed to politicians in this campaign period to sheath their swords by playing the game according to the tenets of democracy for the interest of oneness.
The principal of the school Mr James Gambo Demlong said “I was posted here in 2012 when the challenges of deplorable nature of the school was so bad, I then felt bad by writing to sons and daughters to come to the aide of the community” .
He expressed deep appreciation for the donation of the two classroom blocks which will help in boosting the children and the staff moral to better performance.
The principal encouraged parents and the neighbouring Bauchi to take advantage of the school by sending their wards to acquire knowledge, he said.
He pointed out that the structure will help to enhance the productivity, we always need conducive environment which will encourage the children to learn under this conditions.
We shall improve on the quality of teaching which will help in fighting poverty and reduce corruption in the society. Demlong appealed to all Nigerians to advice their children on need to acquire education which is the bedrock of development.
