With the conspicuous withdrawal of support by the First Lady, Hajja Aisha Buhari and her younger brother, Modi coupled with the growing popularity of the PDP guber candidate, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, Governor Jibrilla Bindow may not get the chance for the desperate second term he badly needed.
DESERT HERALD correspondent in the state who has visited many polling units reports that PDP’s Mr. Fintiri is currently on the lead with the candidate of the PDM, Sen. Abdul’aziz Murtala Nyako second while embattled Gov Bindow so far trailing behind them.
Reports from other local governments across Adamawa including Numan, Demsa, Song, Michika and even in Jimeta town shows that Hon. Fintiri is having a convincing lead over Mr. Bindow who suffered setbacks and saw simultaneous opposition amongst major political gladiators in the state.
Against any last minute change which is highly unlikely, Mr. Fintiri a former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and who has managed the state before in Acting capacity is on his way this time to become the substantive governor of Adamawa State.
