The former ECOMOG commander and senatorial candidate under the platform of All Progressives Congress ,  Retired Major-General John Shagaya, has said  for the fact that the People of Nigeria and Plateau State are tired of “bad governance,” the APC will capture the mantle of leadership in the 2015 general elections.
He said that Plateau State is the most “injured,” by the administration of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Governor Jonah Jang.
Shagaya, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and also Senatorial Candidate, stated this while fielding questions from newsmen at his Jos residence.
The former Senator said: “Most Nigerians including me, have come to believe that PDP is not too sincere about searching and finding peace for this country, especially, when you find comments on the pages of Newspapers or electronics media, saying those of us for you, are more than those against you.
Now for God sake it takes more than two third of the 36 states, to make a president in Nigeria, and it is too scandalous for the President to accommodate that, and he ought to have condemned it.’’
He rhetorically asked that from where TAN is getting huge amount of money to dishes out such statements that tends to divide Nigerians rather than unite “us.”
“Buhari is a matured person and his comments are matured,” he added.
According to him, the President has failed in the quest to rescue the Chibok girls and even doing the necessary things to curtail the insurgencies, added that the comparison being made of Goodluck Jonathan, with the likes of Late Nelson Mandela, Barak Obama, and Marin Luther King were incompatible.
He said: “Mandela came out of prison ruled and unified South Africans, Martin Luther has struggled for the Blacks and today Obama is a President,  if it were in America Obama would have gone to the North East until the Chibok Girls are rescued.”
The APC Chieftain stated that the incumbent PDP administration of the State has woefully failed the citizenry in all ramifications.
“The State has 53 ethnic tribes, with their chiefdoms, but the arrogant behaviours of the seating Governor, who determined to imposed someone from his tribe, his cosine to be the Governor, saying the Berom constitute about 40% of the Population, and therefore, just like the TIV are in Benue so the Berom will continue to rule, and I say the People of the State will not allow that to happen,” he asserted.
He said civil servant in the State are not paid their salaries, “with primary school teachers having eight months of unpaid salaries.”

Shagaya, said he foresee an election where Nigerians and People of Plateau State will use their conscious to vote in candidates based on personality, not that of Party, not that of ethnic or religious linkage.
