The former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah David Jang has been accused of tampering with names of the ward congresses delegate list, replacing them with that of greater together ahead of the state chairmanship election.
A letter of complaint was forwarded to our correspondent blaming the former governor of engaging in fraudulent activities of buying secretariat of the party.
Some group of PDP supporters in Jos South Local Government Area during the ward congresses clashed leading to uprising between the former Governor Jonah Jang supporters and his political godson Bar. Edward Pwajok youth supporters.
The congresses which are scheduled to produce ward leaders recorded low turnout of delegates in Jos and its environs with some skirmishes recorded.
Although, no life was lost, only one car was alleged to have been bashed by supporters of the Greater together chapter of the People Democratic Party,( PDP), The group used by the late GNS Pwajok during the 2016 governorship election.
Member representing Jos South /Jos East ,Bar. Edward Pwajok has condemned the act and called for calm and understanding of the people to move the party forward.
He Spoke through his aide ,Mr Patience Davou Gyang, as he disclosed that the ward congresses had come and gone so he is soliciting the cooperation PDP supporters to shun their differences and work for the victory of the party .
Pwajok stressed that the preparation of ward congresses is one of the ritual to get democratically elected people at various wards level .
It was gathered that the forms were on sale for the last Saturday wards congresses at different locations for those who are loyal to them. The PDP wards congresses has been marred by irregularities frauds in Plateau North
The group denied allegations by some factions that they hijacked sensitive materials for the party congresses.
Aggrieved members of PDP in Plateau, North accused the former governor Jonah David Jang of hijacking the materials for the state saying when they went to collect the sensitive materials in Abuja ,they discovered that some group leaders had already shifted to their camp.
He expressed sadness that some highly placed member of the PDP hoarded the forms and sat down in their comfort to appoint whom they choose by denying the popular candidate access to form.
According to him, the act of using violence to cause unnecessary upheaval to get to positions are over, people are more aware now than before .
Pwajok advised those that couldn’t get the form to go to the party secretariat and register their grievances or the electoral panel where justice will be done .
He said that the crisis being experienced in PDP Plateau state chapter was caused by imposition of candidates and lack adherence to zoning arrangement .
The member reiterated that the reason why the party failed to clinch 2015 general elections was due to the imposition of unpopular candidate and lack consultation .
