Over 500 People Killed By Cholera Outbreaks In Jigawa-Dr. Kabir Ibrahim

At least over 500 persons have been killed Cholera outbreaks in Jigawa stated.

The Executive Secretary Primary Health Care Agency Jigawa State Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim stated this in Baranda village in Jigawa state during the flag-off of the oral cholera vaccination in the state.

He explained further that “we chose Baranda village because out of 12, 000 communities because of its good people who respect the leadership” he stated.

Dr. Kabir explained further that as the vaccination exercise is flagged off in Baranda is also taking place in Birnin Kudu, Dutse, and Hadejia local government area of the state.

The secretary said it is the first time in history that the state acquire the cholera vaccine in the state and it is also the first of its kind in the country that cholera vaccine is distributed to the selected state in which Jigawa state is among the benefiting states in the federation.

He, therefore, called on the people in the state especially those in the Bamaina area to utilize the gesture given to them because it is very important being it very few states were selected among the Nations to benefit.

In his ward, the Emir of Dutse Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Sunusi said the cholera outbreak occurred as a result of unhygienic acts of people.

The Emir said the Baranda community is lucky of been selected among the villages in the country to enjoy the gesture.

He testified that the vaccine does not have any harm, it is a good vaccine that will cure cholera and protect them from future occurrence, he, therefore, called on the Baranda community to make very good use of its it is a good opportunity to all.

The village head of Baranda Malam Idris Abdulmumini thanked the ministry of health and the state government for choosing their community among the people to receive the vaccine in the state.
