Organized Labour Strike: Nasarawa Head of Service Bar Journalists From His Office

Nasarawa state Head of Service, Thomas Ari Ogiri has bar Journalists from entering his office, the security personnel on duty said the directive was given to them by Mr.Ogiri.

The team of Journalists was not allowed into the office to inquire for clarification on the sacking of all Secondary school Teachers in the state.

Our reporters who went round some ministries ,boards and parastatals can authoritatively unveiled that the ongoing strike is on cause even with the directive by the impeached chairman of NLC, Comrade Abdullahi Adeka  calling on workers to resume work.

Some of the ministries visited include the ministry of higher education which was under lock and key as no single soul was spotted at the ministry.

While the office of the Head of Service was like a ghost town,  if not the presence of the Head of Service with few directors while directors in vast of ministries did not abide by the directive of the state government to open attendance register for civil servants.

One of the ministries, ministry of health was also locked as only a security man was spotted at the time of the visit, the only lively places are the office of the Secretary to the State Government, The Nasarawa Universal Basic Education Board with vast of men of the Nasarawa State Youth Empowerment Scheme deployed to various ministries.

The faction of Comrade Bala Umar of the Nigeria Labour Congress during a press briefing has directed workers in the state to remain at home until they received three months alerts of the backlog of their salaries.

He described the sacking of workers being announced by the state government as a joke.

The questions that needed ardent answer is, what would be the position of government on the permanent secretaries, chief executives that were absent on Monday 15/05/2017.
