Okowa’s Tribunal Victory is Divine- Osanebi

The Delta State Governorship election petition tribunal judgment, Today  struck-out the petition filed by the Labour Party, LP and All People’s Congress , APC governorship candidates in the last election in the state, challenging the victory of the state governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

Reacting to the judgment, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi said that the victory of Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa was to further re-establish  that the April 2015 victory was an act of God.

“I am not surprised by the outcome of the election petition tribunal judgment because Governor Okowa has both support from God and the people of Delta state. This ruling has further deepened our democracy and proven that our judicial system can be relied upon” Osanebi said.

The Deputy Speaker said that the judgment was significant in the sense that, it has re-affirmed that the elections that gave the governor his mandate was free, fair and had the backing of the law.

He equally extended hands of comradeship to the Chieftains of the APC and LP in the state, urging then to team up with the governor in advancing the fortunes of the state.

Rt. Hon. Osanebi emphasized that, what should be paramount to all politicians in the state irrespective of political party allegiance is how to deepen the institutions of democracy and make life more meaningful for the populace by given Deltans the needed prosperity from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
