Obasanjo, IBB, Abdulsalami Meet In Minna Over Rising Insecurity

Obasanjo had earlier paid a congratulatory visit to Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, on his 90th birthday.

Elder statesmen, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has held a closed-door meeting with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former National Security Adviser Aliyu Gusau in Minna, Niger State.

Obasanjo arrived in Minna on Sunday at around 4:15 pm, flying in on a chartered flight from Edo State, where he had earlier paid a congratulatory visit to Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, on his 90th birthday.

Upon arrival, Obasanjo proceeded directly to Babangida’s Hilltop residence, where Abdulsalami and Gusau were already waiting.

Though the details of the meeting were not made public, sources close to the former leaders hinted that it may be linked to the rising spate of banditry and insecurity affecting Niger State and other parts of Northern Nigeria.
