The Senior Correspondent of Highland Radio Nigeria in Plateau state council, Alh Murtala Sani has solicited the cooperation of Plateau state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) towards rebuilding the loss glory of media practice’s by partnering with other bodies.
He said the states council should lay emphasizes on training and retraining of its members by partnering with appropriate foreign organization to enhance quality journalism practice in Nigeria.
Sani stated this while submitting his nomination form for position of Vice Chairman.
He said I have a lot to offer NUJ members that is the reason for me vying for this position of vice Chairman to play the role of complementary I have verse experience in partnership with foreign organization and institutions that now training my organization.
We are going to build the capacity of the journalism practice to boost their knowledge on modern reporting by bringing them together to promote the profession.
Murtala Sani stressed the need to promote love and understanding amongst ourselves because the disunity in the state calls for urgent attention to sanitize the system.
He vows to fish out quacks members out of the profession who are disguise as media practitioners by sending authentic list of NUJ members to NGO, Public organizations and foreign build to avoid dealing with the wrong people as journalists.
Mr Sunday Taiwo of the Newslink chapel said that journalism practice has gone beyond the level way people though its be.
He explained further that journalism is now at higher level we pounder over it’s to correct bad image to ensure accountability and transparency and work towards rebuilding the damage side.
Taiwo cautioned that why there is problem between government and the Plateau state council is due lack of unity amongst the members which government took advantage to be treating us like press boys.
He assured that the NUJ will establish a vibrant committee that can help them check and build synergy with other bodies for good working relationship in facilitating development of Nigeria.
According to him, some of them are picking the forms with very good intention of coming restructure unite the members who are disconnected completely from the practice.
