NSUK VC’s Stringent Measure To Avert Another ASUU/Non Academic Staff Strike Next Week Hits Brick Wall

All avenues by the Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa state University, Keffi to avert another strike action pressing home over the nonpayment of March and April salaries has been exhausted.

ASUU demanded that the state government should settle their unpaid Academic Earned Allowances (money for excess work load from 2009 to date mounted to N887m while the non-Academic Earned Allowances hits N860m mounted to N1.7bn which was accumulated for four years.

The staffs of the institution are bent on embarking on a strike if the remaining balances of N257m including N157m meant for three months and outstanding two months’ salary, he said N209m was the monthly wage of staff while N49m goes to labourers and cleaners.

“I briefed the governor on the matter and he gave me assurance of doing something before the expiration of the ultimatum which was on Monday.
