NSUBEB Give Contractors One Week Ultimatum To Mobilize To Site Or Risk Revocation

The executive chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Mohammed Dan’azumi has read riot act to contractors handling the ongoing massive construction of schools awarded by the board to resume to site or face the wrath of the board.

The chairman stated this during a meeting with contractors at Taal conference hotel, Lafia, the headship raised eyebrow over the way and manner contractors shun site three month after the release of fund.

Dan’azumi gave contractors one week ultimatum to mobilize to site or risk revocation of their contract.

Saying the board would not condone non performing contractors, he further called on the contractors to mobilize to for the sake of the state.

The meeting ended in a closed door session with contractors and the management of the State Universal Basic Education Board.

It could be recalled that the state government under the headship of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in 2013 awarded a contract for the supply of seats at the tune of N1.09bn for onward distribution to primary and junior secondary schools in the state.

Recalled that majority of primary and junior secondary schools in the state remain without furniture, this potent serious challenges to the ongoing restructuring of the education sector by the current state government.

The state commissioner of education, Hon.Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani declined comment on the conditions of primary and junior secondary schools directing selected Journalists to NSUBEB.
