Northern Elders Forum Denies Meeting With INEC Chairman By Hassan Galadima, Abuja

The Northern Elders Forum, NEF have dismissed allegation of meeting with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Professor Attahiru Jega as alleged by the Southern Nigerian People Assembly. In a press conference in Abuja the Deputy Leader of the Forum Dr. Paul Onongo challenged any group or individual that has concrete evidence about the allegation to come out and make it public to Nigerians to know.
He expressed surprise with names of highly respected former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr. Alex Ekwueme and two others Arch Bishop Ayo Ladigbolo and the Indefatigable, very zealous leader of Ijaw people, Chief Edward K. Clark,  where signatories to document.
Dr. Paul Onongo stated that the attention of the forum has been drawn  to the allegation that the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) intend to install a Northern President through rigging, an allegations which he described  as false and baseless information that has no evidence or source of such claims by Southern People Assembly.
He expressed that the forum support for the APC presidential candidature of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) in the March 28th 2015 Presidential election is due to his credible record in office when he was Head of State during the Military regime. Dr. Paul Onongo gave a vote of confidence to the INEC chairman Professor Attahiru Jega, stating that the leadership of INEC under Prof. Attahiru Jega will conduct credible, free and fair election come 2015 general election.
He supported the INEC decision to use card reader in the 2015 general election in Nigeria added that will help to reduce manipulation during the election.
