NOA Task Corps Members On Patriotism And Ethics

Umar Akilu Majeri

National Orientation Agency NOA, has urged corps members to imbibe the spirit of patriotism and ethics in all their dealings.

The Jigawa State Director of the Agency Mallam Shu’aibu Karamba made the call in a lecture delivered to the 2021 Batch B, Stream 1 Corps Members in Fanisau Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

Mallam Shuaibu Karamba who was represented by the Assistant Head of Department Planning, Research, and Statistics of the agency, Mallam Ibrahim Attah explained that the main objectives of the agency are to ensure that government programmes and policies are better understood by the public.

Karamba further explained that erosion in values of trust and fairness has led to high-level corruption, lack of transparency, accountability, non-adherence to ethical and professional standards, especially in the public sector.

According to him, no matter the measures put in place or strategies designed for national development, such would not yield the desired results, unless and until every citizen especially the youths see the need to imbibe and practice national core values.

The state Director, therefore, urged corps members to play their roles as change agents by scaling up sensitization of young Nigerians on the seven core values so that they can achieve a better society devoid of any form of social unrest.
