No Going Back On My Senatorial Ambition-Hon. Onawo

The Member Federal House of Representatives representing Awe, Doma, Keana Federal constituency, Hon.Mohammed  Ogoshi Onawo said nothing would stop him from contesting for Nasarawa South Senatorial seat come 2019.

He stated this when Migili People’s Democratic Party supporters Paid him a visit at the National Assembly, Onawo said remaining in the green chamber would be sacrilegious and denial to the people of Keana.

Saying he preferred to move on to the Senate for people of Keana to contest for House of Representatives, adding that spending  Third time in the green chamber is a forgone issue.

“Hon Musa Elayo was former member House of Representatives and after he was confirmed Minister Federal Republic, Hon.Tanko Zubairu from Doma spends two years succeeded by Hon.Hashimu Abdullahi from Awe who spent 8 years and was succeeded by me”.

According to him, “It will be unfair to run for the third time in the House of Representatives blocking the chance of Keana people.

Onawo says he will do more if elected to the Senate, he reeled out some of his achievements to include execution of solar boreholes projects in all nook and crannies of his constituency. Other projects are building of Information Communication Technology centers, classrooms blocks and registration of free NECO/WAEC and amongst others.

“My good work started way back when I’m in the State Assembly, he promised the people good representation by carrying all and sundry along.

He further opined that over 60 persons were accorded employment at the Federal level.

The leader of the team, Hon. Sunday Abaji appreciated the member for the warm welcome, saying Migili PDP leaders are solidly behind his senatorial ambition.

Edward Amaza who spoke on behalf of Youth leaders buttressed that the support of the Onawo would be beyond 2019.

Commending, Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo for sponsoring an educational program since his days in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly when he held sway as the Speaker of NSHA in 2003.

Assuring him of their total support to members of the team expressed grief over the unwholesome killings meted on Migili by people unidentified people they described as Fulani nomads in Gidan Rai community.

He called on Hon.Onawo to assist the people of Obi, one of the crisis-stricken communities. Jeremiah Joseph who spoke on behalf of Coordinator said religion is a serious setback to Nasarawa politics; he, however, averred that 2019 election in Nasarawa South would only be based on merit not on the religious ground as it was obtainable.

“Our reward as party supporters is not in heaven but on earth and your candidature was coming at a time Migili are looking for a committed representative”.
