The Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Mai Doya has cautioned Nigerians to be mindful of the current hunger crisis the nation is passing through by choosing the NNPP as an alternative party that will salvage the country come 2023.
The party’s flag bearer gave the hint shortly after a meeting and resolution of the party at the NNPP State Secretariat at the weekend in Lafia.
In an interview with Universal Reporters said the ruling All Progressives Congress has failed Nigerians, Urging the citizenry not to repeat the same mistake that happened in the last general election.
Saying the New Nigeria People’s Party humiliation by the Independent National Electoral Commission thwarting the logo of the party compelled the party to change its logo in its entirety from basket and fruits to book and academic cap signifying “Better Education for All”.
Abdullahi Mai Doya averred that the experience of the party in the last election is a headway for the party to forge ahead in 2027 and subsequent elections.
“The change of our party logo is not an outcome of any internal rumpus but rather to make an adjustment and correct certain loopholes by INEC”.
He expressed concern over the way and manner Nigerians are treated with disdain, a reaction that led to a national protest as a result of a hike in the price of petrol and a sharp increase in prices of food and other sources of livelihood.
He further disclosed that Nigerians have denied the dividend of democracy since the inception of the ruling All Progressives Congress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, referring to the ruling party as anti-people.
