NISDP:ITF Graduates 500 Youths In Skill Acquisition In Gombe

No fewer than 500 youths in Gombe have been graduated in the area of skill acquisition programme.

 

Director-General of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Sir Joseph N Ari made this known yesterday in Gombe during closing ceremony of National Industrial Skills Development Programme held at Education Resource Center.

 

He said in the last three years,ITF through NISDP has equipped over 450,000 youths in skill acquisition programme nation wide with a view to create job in the society.

 

According to him, 13,000 Nigerians youths in 2017 through NISDP were trained in various trade like Welding, Fabrication, Plumbing, Pipe-fitting among others.

 

The director general said ITF have commenced implementation of 2019 NISDP skills acquisition programme in Gombe and Federal capital territory under skills intervention programme.

 

Report has shown that unemployment rate in Nigeria if cares is not taking will reach 33.5percent by 20-20-20.

 

In his response, Governor Inuwa Yahaya who was represented by his deputy Dr Mannasah Daniel Jatau appreciated the gesture and called on the beneficiaries to use their skills judiciously.

 

He said the training will go along way in creating job for teaming youths in the country.

 

According to him, Gombe state government in its campaign promise will create skills acquisition center in 114 wards in the state to reduce unemployment rate among youths.
