Nigerian Govt. Withdraws Suit Against Dan-china And 16 Others Over Illegal Mining

The Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau state capital presided over by Justice; Musa Kurya has struck out a suit filed by the federal government challenging Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Usman popularly called, Danchina and 25 orders for illegal mining activities in Kampany Zurak of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau state on Tuesday.

 

The Judge said based on learned silk application order of the attorney general request to this honorable court, I hereby withdraw a suit filed by the federal government challenging Alh Abdullahi Adamu Usman and 25 orders for illegal mining activities in Zurak Kampany.

 

I see no reason why I should reject the application so I hereby withdraw and struck out the suit on the order of the Attorney general of Nigeria. He also ordered the registrar of the court to release all the international passports of the 16 Chinese nationals which are still in his custody with immediate effect.

 

He added, the lawyer who is the prosecution counsel has presented an application seeking for the withdrawal coming from the directive from the Attorney General of Federation.

 

The Prosecution counsel , Senior state counsel, Barr V.A Joshua said based on an express order from the Attorney General Of The Federation we hereby apply before this honourable court to withdraw a suit earlier filed challenging the accused persons of illegal mining activities in Wase LGA .

 

Barr. Joshua urged the Honourable court to withdraw the suit on grounds of Attorney General’s request which the defendant counsel could not opposed to the prayer of the prosecution counsel.

E. Danboyi defendant counsel applauded the court for granting the order of the AG which was brought for the notice of the court.
