The Nigeria Ambassador to Spain Demola Razak Seriki has become trending news on social media for the wrong reason.
He decided not to ride his official Representative Car instead opted to import his personal car from Lagos to Madrid.
He removed one of the Spanish foreign ministry-approved number plates for Nigeria embassy registered vehicle and put it on his range rover when he illegally without authorization from his host ministry removed the plate number.
He was stopped by the police who threatened to impound the vehicle as it has no proper documentation when they described him as a crazy man.
According to a source in the Nigerian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Chief Seriki reportedly breached diplomatic protocols by his decision to abandon the official vehicle assigned to him from the Nigerian Embassy in Madrid and instead opted for his personal Range Rover from Lagos, Nigeria at a huge cost to the Nigerian government.

He then reportedly removed one of the Spanish number plates for the Nigerian Embassy registered vehicle and put on his imported Range Rover without recourse to the Spanish authority’s in charge of the Ministry.
He was reportedly stopped by the police who threatened to impound the vehicle as it had no proper documentation.
Observers opine that Mr. Seriki must understand that no one Ambassador could claim immunity for false and reckless conduct thereby causing undue embarrassment to his country.
