The President of the Nigeria Hotel Association (NHA), Patrick Anyanwu, on Thursday warned unregistered hotel owners across the country to do so to get protection from the association.
Anyanwu who gave the charge at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Bauchi Council said the association will only protect members who are registered with it.
He said that if you have a hotel and didn’t register with the National body, in case anything happens, you will go and defend yourself, not the association, because you have the hotel but are not registered.
According to the President, “We’ll protect your hotel and your interest in case anything happens to you as a registered member of the Nigeria Hotel Association.
He urged members to uphold the spirit of fairness, transparency and shared responsibility, to also embrace the gospel of unity and to look beyond personal interests and focus on the collective good of the association.
“We are also here to deliberate on the report of the reconciliation committee set up during our review by the National Executive Council. This report is important in creating an opportunity for understanding and our hope of being united as one powerful body.”
The association also discussed on the issue surrounding the association registration, inauguration and payment of annual dues of different states into the National body. Added that by paying that will define the growth and development of any association to pilot its affairs.
“Let us remind ourselves that our strength lies not in our numbers alone, but in our ability to speak with one voice and walk hand in hand with one another.”
The National President of the Nigeria Hotel Association, His Highness Eze, Patrick C. Anyanwu, encouraged members to participate actively, offer constructive inputs and stay committed to the vision of a stronger, more united Nigeria Hotel Association.
