Sunday Bala Oma foundation in partnership with international youth education youth action net and LEAP African has given awards to retired Army Generals, professors and engineers for their outstanding contribution to the uplifting of entrepreneurship education of youngsters and youth empowerment.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong admonished citizens of Plateau state of his administration commitment to reposition the dwindling economic of the state.
Represented by Director of Micro finance, Mr Haggai Gopep at the occasion held at Bishop Court.
He said the government is committed to the change mantra of the federal government in promoting entrepreneurship education in Plateau toward alleviating poverty .
Lalong said, his administration has introduced micro finance bank and some agencies to provide youth of Plateau state with the rightful skills through intervention program of change.
“we want to change the mentality of our people and also train young people on how they can key into the partnership program that can impact positively to the dwindling economic fortune of government.
Those who bagged the awards include, former ECOMOG commander, LGT Joshua Nimmyel Dogonyaro, General John Shagaya,Dr David Jangkam ,Prof. Simon Yiltok ,Dr Simon Mwadkon ,Chief Richard Wayas and ,Chairman NUJ Plateau State council ,Mr Yakubu Taddy ,who have received Sunday Bala Oma foundation awards of excellence for contributing to the uplifting of entrepreneurship education in Nigeria .
The founder Sunday Bala Oma said the 6th annual seminar for transformation of Nigeria (STN2016) is to set up enterpreneurship roadmap for sustainable development of people awareness campaign for good governance.
Oma said since they established of this NGO in April, 2009 with the sold aimed of creating jobs opportunity and ensure that before 2050 about 80% of Nigerian communities are aware of their right .According to him, the foundation organize summer training and Essay competition to secondary schools in Plateau , Bayelsa states and seminars to professional bodies .
He added that the foundation this year invited 2,600 students were only 25 of them emerged victorious in their performance recorded outside Nigeria .
Oma explained further that Oyero Oluwadara came 10th position, Jerry Iyale 9th ,Divine Famurudu 8th,Thomas Chung 7th,Paul Ransa 6th ,Jamya. Mshap 5th, Fanto Susan 4th was those who exceled and inducted to take oath of office of entrepreneurship Programme .
Speaking on the current fight against insurgents by Nigerian Army, General Nimmyel Dogonyaro expressed confidence in the Nigerian army in handling the Boko Haram.
He stressed that from the beginning the army demonstrated their weakness and lack of professionalism and determination to end the Boko Haram during President Goodluck Jonathan regime.
The generals who said the honoured done to him was a recognition of hard work and dedication to service to humanity and the awards of security icon will spur him do more in the area of security advice to the nation .
He challenged the security agencies on poor training and lack of commitment to service.
Dogonyaro called for continue prayer and warn that people should remain alert and report to security personnel.
He revealed that the Nigerian military failed to cruise the Boko Haram sects for lack of commitment and high level of corruption among the force.
