New Life FC defeated El-kanemi FC of Jos Central in a penalty shootout after a one all draw in the final that took place at Bukuru mini Stadium in Jos South LGA.
Speaking shortly before the final kick off, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vicampro, Eng Michael Agbogo, said that the company is partnering with international football teams, agents and other profession bodies to groom world class footballers as the state is blessed with abundant young and vibrant football talents.
Agbogo said, “The purpose of the tournament apart from strengthen peace and unity among its citizens is to engage productively the growing number of football talent on the Plateau and to promote sport by harnessing and encouraging these talents to play professionally in the future”
Agbogo said that their partners are watching all the matches online as an avenue of marketing the skills of these young footballers, adding, “whoever display his talent at the competition would grab double reward to himself because he will go away with the little from us and have easy access to professional club in euro”.
Agbogo added, “Our vision is not only grooming and harnessing football talents in the state but to also create a sport friendly name in the minds of both the players and fans/spectators and develop further introduce our brand to the public”.
The tournament which featured 16 teams in the final round with prices for the first three teams as winners grasp N150, 000, runners up, N75,000 and third place got N50,000, football jersey’s to competing teams as well as consolation prices to the best player of the tournament, highest goal scorer, fair play and best coach.
