The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency ,NDLEA ,Plateau state command has promised to champion a comprehensive drug free nation by transforming into a proactive and intelligence-led Agency
NDLEA also graduated 255 senior officers basic course 14 for 2015 with 43 women, all in a bid to reduce spread of violence in some parts of the country has led to loss of lives and damage to property with rising number of displaced persons.
The Director general /secretary National Drug Law enforcement Agency Mrs Roli Bode-George who disclosed this during the passing out parade of the senior officers at the RADC parade Ground,Katon Rikkos Jos, Plateau state.
She said drugs consumption has post a serious threat to our national security and we must rise up to the challenge because of the role of drugs in crime.
According to her, the agency has recorded spectacular arrests and drug seizures at this electioneering period which she considered as part of their contributions towards eradicating drugs from the country.
Mrs Bode-George noted that as a country we shall continue to carry out enlightenment campaigns on the dangers of drug use and violence as we emphasize the fact that drug addiction is treatable.
She urged the fresh gradaunds to imbibe the spirit of enthusiasm with significant impact on our operations as you all are being commissioned into the agency.
Adding, I am optimistic that you will make the country proud by going the extra mile in eradicating narcotics drugs from our society.
Commandant ,Regional Academy for drug control ,Katon -Rikkos ,Jos Mr Segun Oke said that NAPTIP and NEMA has trained highly professional and proficient include drug demand reduction, investigation, interdiction, intelligence, financial investigation enforcement duties ,legal studies ,computer and general studies.
He added that physical training such as drills, weight lifting ,endurance exercise, tactical/defensive training ,musketry and practical firearms handling at the shooting range.
The Academy also collaborates with foreign partners within the west African sub region, Europe and united states who received various training .
He explained that numerous challenges of salvaging mankind from the scourge of drugs.
Oke charged the gradaunds to remain good ambassadors of this Academy in discharging their duties.
He urged them to take away and apply the knowledge acquired to their respective commands.
Governor Jonah David Jang congratulated the graduands and challenged them to render their maximum service to the country.
He asked the Agency to redouble their effort in controlling the menace of youth addiction.
