The legislative arm of Doma Local Government has described the purported suspension of the Executive Chairman, Arc. Ahmed Sarki Usman is a mere report meant to entertain the people of the State.
He asked for the urgent reversal of the purported news before 24 hours or risk litigation. The legislative arm of the Local Government summoned an emergency plenary to erase doubt in the minds of listeners of the State-owned media outfit, NBS.
He called on the general public to disregard the information aired as the application of unprofessionalism and disrespect to ethics and an abuse of the tenet of Journalism.
The Majority Leader of the Council, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu representing Madaki electoral ward of Doma Local Government gave the hint while briefing Journalists at the Council temporary chamber today (Thursday).
Ibrahim disclosed that the Chairman has done well to bring succor to the populace eighteen months after taking over the mantle of leadership from his predecessor.
He debunked the news making round that the Council legislative arm suspended the executive Chairman,Arc.Ahmed Usman Sarki as baseless and far away from the truth.
“The executive Chairman will only be suspended through constitutional means but not mere announcement by a radio house or press statement only”.
He tasked media outfits in the State to verify the information before going to the press , saying the news reported by the State-owned Nasarawa Broadcasting Service is fictitious and was meant to cause rancor within the peace-loving people of Doma Local Government.
Hon.Ibrahim who spoke on behalf of the six Councilors present during the proceeding described the entire exercise as an exercise in futility.
