NAWE Pledges To Support Govt Policies, Programs Toward Uplifting Women’s Lot

The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE) on Tuesday pledged to support all policies and programmes of the Federal and State Governments toward uplifting the lots of women in Nigeria.

The president-elect, who expressed optimism on the association’s ability to overcome its challenges, said, “we are looking forward to do a lot of things together with government at all levels for the good of the Nigerian woman

 

 

“The Nigerian woman is known for her doggedness and enterprise, therefore, we, as entrepreneurs, will do all we could to our fellow women out there to be engineers and technocrats of the new emerging Nigerian economy.

 

 

“This is why this association is out and very ready to partner with the government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to see all policies and programmes of the Government are impactful.

 

 

“We are very mindful of the numerous women empowerment programs initiates by the present administration and want to ensure that no woman is left untouched by their benefits.

 

 

“The good news is that we numerous women across the country, who are captains of industries and enterprineurs doing well in fine tuning the economy of Nigeria, ” the president asserted.

 

 

She called on all women to pickup any challenge to better lots of their lives and those of their family members.

 

 

On ways to strengthen activities of the Association, Ndanusa disclosed that plans are underway to organise elections in all the 36 states including Abuja, to elect officials that would run the chapters for effectiveness.

 

While commending the outgoing Chief Mrs Ada Ozongwu led EXCO for successfully conducting a free and fair election, Ndanusa said that she was confident of her  team to deliver and make the members proud.

 

The president-elect gave the names of NAWE leadership team to include: Mrs Mfon Udoimeh, (Deputy President elect, North Central Zone), Mrs Saratu Mera (Deputy President elect, North West Zone) and Mrs Nnenna Okwu ,(Deputy President elect, southeast Zone).

She further stated, “other team members are; Mrs Taiye Agbontaen (Deputy President elect, South South Zone), Mrs Margarita Oluwole (Deputy President elect, South West Zone), Mrs Patricia Beanies (Director General elect), Mrs Abigail Edohoeket (National Treasurer elect) and Mrs Bilkisu Bambale (National Publicity Secretary elect.)”

The President-elect said, “this formidable team have made and have spoken laud of its resolve and determination to give the women a purposeful leadership.”

  • This is wonderful. I am so sure Barrister Vera Ndanusa will steer the wheel of NAWE to a greater heights and greatly impact the women folks, considering her past leadership history.
