National Assembly To Pass 2018 Budget Next Week

From its earlier announced April 24th date to pass the 2018 budget which it failed to meet, the National Assembly has announced that it will pass the money bill next week.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Publicity, Abdulrazak Namdas, told media correspondents that the 2018 appropriation bill will be laid on the floor of the House and passed next week.

The Adamawa lawmaker gave this assurance while briefing the media today in the National Assembly.

“Hopefully, we want to pass the budget next week. We will lay it on Tuesday,” he announced.

This comes a week after the Chairman disclosed that the budget would be passed at the end of April 2018.

Recall that the N8.612 trillion budget was presented by President Buhari on the 7th of November 2017 and was tagged the ‘budget of recovery.’

Regrettably, six months after the budget was presented to the National Assembly, Nigerians are still waiting on the promise that it will be passed ‘next week.’
