Rabiu Omaku
The incumbent chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Nasarawa State Wing, Comrade Ishaku Mohammed Isa has been re-elected for another four year tenure at the 7th delegate conference in Lafia.
Speaking while accepting the mandate, Comrade Isa who thanks the delegate for having that confidence in him promise to sustain his efforts in negotiating better welfare for members of the Union.
Comrade Isa who read out his achievements in the last four years includes the payment of two-and-a-half months’ salary arrears owed to teachers between 2021 and 2023, purchase of official vehicles for the Union’s leadership, fencing of the NUT Permanent site in Lafia, and efforts to ensure teachers retire on their rightful grade levels.
The Chairman appreciated the cordial relationship between the Union and stakeholders such as the State Ministry of Education, NSUBEB, TRCN, NTI, NLC, TUC, and other sister Unions.
The event was attended by Government officials, education stakeholders, and representatives of teachers from across the thirteen Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.
